A large storm could hit the United Kingdom on Friday, with torrential rain and severe gales possible in many areas, including in Herefordshire.

Latest weather models are indicating gusts of up to 80mph across many parts, with disruption likely widely if this is the case.

Heavy rain is also currently predicted, with snowfall possible, especially across higher ground in Wales and Northern England. Flooding could be a concern if heavy rainfall occurs, with Wales already seeing between two and four inches of rainfall this weekend.

Dave Throup, former Environment Agency Manager for Herefordshire & Worcestershire shared an update on Twitter this evening, warning about the possible storm, but it should be mentioned that at this stage, no details are certain and forecasts are subject to change.
