Data released by Public Health England has shown that COVID-19 cases in Herefordshire are on the rise again, but one good piece of news is that the number of patients with COVID-19 at hospital in the county remains far lower than this time last year.
Data released by Public Health England shows that in the seven day period ending the 27th January, a total of 2,503 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Herefordshire. This is an increase of 24.2% on the previous seven day period and left Herefordshire with a COVID-19 infection rate of 1,293 cases per 100,000 population.
Data also showed that three areas of the county are currently recording ‘very high’ levels of COVID-19. These areas are, Leominster South, Hereford South West and Hereford Central.
