The Hereford Taxi Association are to host a general meeting on Monday evening, with strike action still possible due to an ongoing dispute with Herefordshire Council over proposed changes to the licensing policy.
The meeting will take place at 7pm at The Kindle Centre and all drivers that are part of the association are being invited to attend.
There are concerns that the new policy will introduce a test that some existing drivers are concerned they may not pass and therefore be forced out of a job that some of them have done for several years.
Taxi drivers that we have spoken to have told us that under the new license plans, drivers would be expected to have a detailed knowledge of every street in the county, which some drivers say is almost impossible.
Herefordshire Council would like your views on the proposed policy.
Please read the following documents and email your responses to Taxiconsultation21@herefordshire.gov.uk or write to Taxi Licensing Section, Herefordshire Council, 8 St Owens Street, Hereford HR1 2PJ.
