Herefordshire Council has agreed to give Leominster, Bromyard, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and Kington, £20,000 each from the Welcome Back Fund, to help boost the recovery of Herefordshire market towns.
The Welcome Back fund project is one of the key actions of the Recovery Plan aimed at revitalising market town places by offering high quality experiences ,promoting the safe and successful reopening of the public environment to support the recovery of trade in Hereford and in particular the market town centres of Bromyard, Leominster, Ledbury, Ross on Wye and Kington.
These activities will support the recovery of local trade and tourism through re-establishing safe & welcoming access to local facilities, such as:
• Safe re-opening of public conveniences (toilets) including new temporary
facilities (toilets) provision.
• ‘Beautification’ activities
• Non-permanent public realm adaptations.
• Improvement of green spaces and provision of outdoor seating areas.
• Support and promote a safe public environment for a local area’s visitor
economy
On 6th August 2021, the Herefordshire Council Cabinet approved to accept the Welcome Back Fund grant of £172,188 from the European Regional Development fund (ERDF) and MHCLG
