Are flip flops allowed? That’s just one of the questions from members of the public after a pub in Hereford decided to ban people who wear Stone Island clothing, hoodies and are aged under 21 from entering, after a fight broke out at the weekend.
The Orange Tree posted on Facebook that only those aged 21 and over would be allowed entry on a Friday and Saturday and that no sportswear would be allowed any day of the week and those wearing Stone Island clothing or bum bags would be refused entry.
This has resulted in a number of comments, both against the decision and in support of the decision on social media.
Becca Louise-Whittaker said: “Discrimination at its finest. Well done Herefordshire for showing us how backwards and ignorant this county really is.”
However, Ben Williams agreed with The Orange Tree’s decision and said, “Their pub their choice”.
Since making the decision, The Orange Tree have confirmed that they will be making September their Charity month, with a post on social media saying:
“Throughout September we will be donating 10% of our takings each week to local charities. We have chosen 4 charities that do some amazing work within the Herefordshire community. The first charity we have chosen is our neighbour – The Little Princess Trust.”
