The Pentagon has confirmed that there has been an explosion this afternoon outside Kabul Airport.
It is reported that a suicide bomber has detonated a device close to the airport, with the United States of America and the United Kingdom working hard alongside other allies to evacuate tens of thousands of people ahead of the 31st August deadline.
There has been growing concern for days that an attack was highly likely, with the Taliban refusing to extend the deadline for British and American troops to get people out of Afghanistan.
