The A49 is set to remain closed for several hours between Wellington and the A417 junction at Hope-under-Dinmore, after a lorry overturned on Dinmore Hill.
Motorists travelling between Hereford and Leominster are advised to use an alternative route, with the recovery of the lorry likely to take several hours.
Emergency services, including West Mercia Police remain at the scene and officers have been directing traffic that was stuck on the hill following the incident.
