Holidaymakers have been dealt a blow by the announcement this afternoon that Portugal will be moving from the Green Travel List to the Amber Travel List.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps confirmed that no countries would be added to the green list but the news that Portugal will be added to the amber list will be a huge blow for thousands of holidaymakers that have holidays booked in the country.
People returning from green list countries don’t have to quarantine on arrival back in the UK but those returning from amber list countries have to self-isolate at home for 10 days and take two tests on day two and eight after returning, although they can reduce the time required to self-isolate if they take an additional negative test on day five.
