The Environment Agency is warning that levels on the River Wye in Herefordshire could be set to rise over the coming days, as heavy rain affects much of Wales over the next 48 hours.
Dave Throup (Environment Agency Manager for Herefordshire & Worcestershire) said:
The Wye in Hereford is currently (1.30pm Friday) at 2.2 metres in Hereford, with levels set to rise over the coming hours. Riverside paths and other areas vulnerable to flooding such as Watery Lane are likely to be blocked by tomorrow.
Levels on over rivers in Herefordshire are also expected to flood but no major flooding is expected at this moment in time.
