Health Secretary Matt Hancock has told Sky News this morning that the government is doing all it can to ensure that people in the United Kingdom can enjoy a summer holiday.
The Health Secretary’s comments come as Prime Minister Boris Johnson said yesterday that members of the public should avoid booking summer holidays because it is too early to know whether it will be possible for them to be allowed.
Matt Hancock admitted that he has booked a holiday in Cornwall and that he hopes that people can enjoy some time away after the difficult lockdowns everyone has faced over recent months. Travel abroad looks less likely with staycations the more likely option for those wishing to take a holiday this year.
