We caught up with Hereford FC defender Ryan Green as he prepares for his tenth season at Edgar Street.
YH: Was it a difficult decision to sign a new contract with the increased travelling that playing in the National League North will bring, considering you live in South Wales?
RG: The travel is a bit of an issue, but the main delay for me was coming to terms with playing on a non contract, but this is the club I want to end my career at and I’ve a good relationship with everybody involved at the club.
YH: Will you miss John Mills and Pablo Haysham?
RG: Millsy and Pablo will be missed by everybody at the club, fantastic footballers and lovely people off the field as well. I’m sure the two of them will get a fantastic reception if they play at Edgar street again in their careers.
YH: There have been shouts for you to have a testimonial as this will be your tenth season with the club. What are your thoughts and who would you like to play against if this was to happen?
RG: Haha yes it’s my 10th season and I would love a testimonial whether it happens or not is a different story. If it did happen I would love to play against Wolves where my career started or Cardiff City, my hometown club.
YH: Can the Bulls push for a fourth successive promotion?
RG: Well this season will be a very hard season, a top half finish would be a good achievement, but you never know what beads can pull out of the bag with signings as his recruitment has been fantastic.
YH: What is your favourite moment from the last three seasons?
RG: My favourite moment in the last three seasons would have to be playing at Wembley, although it didn’t go to plan it was a great experience and 20,000 Hereford fans at Wembley will be a day I will never forget.
YH: Do you see yourself going into management when you hang up your boots?
RG: I will never say never but I really can’t see myself going into management, but as the years go on you never know.
