Students at schools in Hereford are being told to remain vigilant after a suspicious man in a black van approached a student and attempted to make contact with the student from the Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School on Friday afternoon.

The matter has been reported to police and investigations are ongoing. Parents are reassured that the student safely returned to school and was collected by their parents.

A letter sent to parents said:

“A man wearing black clothing and a black mask approached the student by attempting to make contact out of the black van he was driving,” Mr Gibbins said.

“This matter has been reported to the police and investigations are ongoing. I would like to reassure you that the student safely returned to school where their parents collected them.”

West Mercia Police are investigating the incident.
