Businesses in Hereford are hailing the launch of a new countywide delivery service ‘Support and Deliver’, by the Hereford Business Improvement District (Hereford BID), as a crucial lifeline in the battle to stay afloat during the country’s second national lockdown.

Rhiannon Burns, Marketing and Projects Manager at Hereford BID said, “we know that for many independent businesses the prospect of delivering goods can be a daunting task. So, with Christmas on the horizon, we wanted to provide a free service to our members that would take this pressure off and allow them to focus on re-connecting with their customers and getting those crucial sales that will help them survive beyond lockdown”.

The service will run each Tuesday and Friday throughout lockdown and cover the whole of the Herefordshire, with the Hereford BID team collecting goods direct from Hereford retailers in the morning for delivery that day.

Hereford BID say the service is ideal for retailers without anonline shop but who still wish to offer a convenient ‘click and deliver’ option. Business co-owner, Moira Davidson from Fox and Mabel, based at the Old Market shopping centre, commented, “we are thrilled this important service from Hereford BID is available to businesses like ours. We are notan online shop, and this allows us to offer our personal shopping experience with free local delivery.’
