The R rate, which shows the Coronavirus rate of transmission across the United Kingdom, has increased this week, to between 1.2-1.5, up from 1.1-1.4 last week. The figures are released each week by SAGE.
The R number indicates the average number of people each person with coronavirus goes on to infect.
It needs to remain below 1.0 to keep the pandemic under control.
