In March 2020 Dixie Furnell created a Facebook group called Dixie’s COVID19 SOS. He wanted to make a difference to the local community and help others who were unable to go shopping.
Back in December 2011 Dixie was sentenced to a period in prison, whilst inside he realised the error of his ways, and as soon as he was released he wanted to put back something to the local community.
With a team of 28 volunteers, and the power of social media, Dixie was able to acquire donations from various local sources, to make sure the elderly and vulnerable were fed the past four months.
