The Hereford FC Under 18 side face Hinton on tonight and will travel to their usual home ground Old School Lane as the away side in the Giantkillers Cup.

The tie was originally due to take place at Hinton’s Broomy Hill ground last month but was postponed due to floodlight failure. With the tie needing to be played, and the lights repaired, the Bulls were quick to offer a solution. The gate receipts on the night will be donated to Hinton to assist the cost of repair, with the Bulls also covering the match costs.

Hinton Chairman Graham Andrews said: “The cost of the repair is currently unknown as we require an inspection using an elevated platform as the fault has been suspected as being the connections to the light itself.

The wet weather has prevented us getting a platform to the stanchion to date and when the weather permits we will be able to complete that inspection. We are very grateful that with the donation of the gate money to the repairs, the total hopefully will not be greater than £500.”

Admission for the 7.30pm kick off match is £3 Adults and Free to Under 16s.

The tie will play to a finish on the night, with extra time and penalties if needed, with the winners back at Old School Lane at the end of the month to face Pegasus Juniors in the Semi-Final. The other semi-final is between Stourport Swifts and Malvern Town.
