The Courtyard are delighted to be working with Hereford Food Bank to support individuals and families across the festive period.

On Thursday 23 December at 5.15pm The Courtyard Cinema will be screening The Muppet Christmas Carol (U) with tickets priced at £1 (donated to Hereford Food Bank) plus a food bank donation up to the equivalent of a Courtyard Cinema film ticket.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Hereford Food Bank to raise donations over this winter period to help those in need.” Says Courtyard Marketing Assistant, Ethan Hargreaves, “Everybody was looking forward to us playing The Muppet Christmas Carol and we’re always looking for ways to involve our local community in our film programme. After all, ‘it’s the season of the heart, a special time of caring… It’s true wherever you find love, it feels like Christmas’!”

Hereford Food Bank was set up in 2008 providing relief of poverty in Herefordshire and the surrounding area through the provision of emergency food parcels. The charity operates with a small group of dedicated volunteers and two part-time officers. Almost all the produce supplied is donated by local people – both individuals and businesses.

Items that are required by the Hereford Food Bank include tinned meat and fish, rice (tinned and dry), UHT milk, baby food, washing powder, cleaning products, toothbrushes, sanitary products, and hygiene products. The Hereford Food Bank is currently well stocked of pasta, beans, tomatoes, and soup, so if audiences are encouraged to pick from this list.

Audiences can donate to The Courtyard’s food bank collection without coming to see The Muppet Christmas Carol. Donations can be brought to The Courtyard Box Office at any time until Thursday 23 December.

The Muppet Christmas Carol (U) will be screened in The Courtyard’s Studio Theatre on Thursday 23 December at 5.15pm. To book tickets, or for more information contact the Box Office on 01432 340555 or visit www.courtyard.org.uk.
