Hereford Harriers Wheelchair Rugby club provides Wheelchair Tag Rugby for disabled and able bodied members from Herefordshire and the surrounding areas.

Wheelchairs and other equipment is provided for use free of charge.

The only criteria is that you can push a chair and catch a ball!

The wheelchairs used obviously get a fair amount of use and battering during the games and therefore cost a lot to maintain and/or replace. These costs, coupled with transport costs to and from games, soon mount up.

To help with this, a team of “volunteers” cycled 46 miles on Sunday 3rd July lead by the infamous Andrew “Buddy” Holley.

Andrew confirmed that the team had competed the ride in a post on Facebook.

He said:

“Thank you to everyone who sponsored us for today’s challenge. We came, we conquered, we got soaked, we got sunburnt, we took wrong turns, we laughed all the way round and we kicked it’s arse!

“Big thank you to my team Geoff Young David Evans Suzanne Marie Dyer and Jordan….Whats next?”
