It was a brilliant day for many of our local football sides yesterday with Hereford FC progressing into the 4th Round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory at Merstham FC.

Elsewhere, Westfields kept up with the pace near the top of the Hellenic League Premier Division with a hard fought 3-1 victory away at Royal Wootton Bassett.

Goals from Josh Hunt, Daniel Stoneman and Matt MacDonald secured the win.

Hereford Lads Club put in the performance of the day with a 4-2 victory over Fairford Town. An early goal from Cameron Peters set Lads Club on their way, but they soon found themselves 2-1 down before Adam Hockey level the scores at 2-2 just before half time through a penalty.

Lads Club then took the lead in the second half thanks to a superb freekick from Adam Newbury, before sealing the victory with Adam Hockey grabbing his second of the game on the break. The result lifts Lads Club up to 18th position, above Lydney Town.
