Westfields have been handed a major boost ahead of the new season, with both forward Aidan Thomas and midfielder Billy Murphy committing themselves to the club for the 2022/23 season.

They join a number of others, including Sam Hunt, Josh Hunt and Matt MacDonald, who have all confirmed that they will be staying at the club.

Phil Glover had the following to say about Aidan Thomas remaining at the club:

“Aidan is recovering from a cruciate ligament operation but will be a massive boost to the team when he returns.

“We won’t put a time frame on him being back playing as we don’t want to rush his recovery, we certainly missed him all of last year having got injured at Longlevens AFC. To have him committed to playing again once fit is a huge lift for us all, on his day he is without doubt one of the best players in this league.”

Phil Glover had the following to say about Billy Murphy remaining at the club:

“Having suffered a knee injury away at Bradford Town last season, he joined a long list of players that missed most of the season, so it’s great Billy is raring to get back into football as he is a quality player that can make the difference.

“Hopefully he can remain injury free this season and get back to the form he was in during our undefeated season.”
