Three of the trees that were located in the centre of Hereford’s City Link Road have been removed after being damaged.

The removal of the trees follows a small number of incidents where trees along this road have been targeted and vandalised by people. The trees have also had issues in high winds due to the road being relatively exposed to the elements.

The trees were installed in March 2022, following approval from councillors to spend more than £500,000 on a number of planters and in ground trees along the route as part of the Hereford City Centre Improvements project.

The project includes a number of other schemes across the city centre, including new bike shelters.
