Emergency services were called to a fire at a three storey property in the early hours of this morning in Hereford.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Three Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station were called at 04:19 on 19 August to a fire with persons reported in Barrs Court Road, Hereford.

“Crews discovered a fire well alight in a first-floor flat in a three-storey property and this was extinguished by four firefighters in breathing apparatus using two hosereel jets.

“A male casualty, who was conscious and breathing, was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by fire service personnel before being discharged.

“Adjacent properties were checked for fire spread using a thermal imaging camera and the property was ventilated. Ambulance and police also attended.”
