The ducks were found on Saturday 25 June at Elgar Avenue at around 6pm with the RSPCA appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward.

It has been reported to the RSPCA that bodies and body parts of several ducks were found.

RSPCA inspector Suzi Smith said: “We are very grateful to those who have already reported this incident to us as the dead bodies must have been very distressing to see.

“We’re not quite sure what has happened here, but we are keen to find out and are looking to speak to two boys who were seen in the area at the time. One was wearing a white t-shirt, the other a red t-shirt.

“We would appreciate it if anyone can help us with our enquiries to please get in touch via the RSPCA appeals line on 0300 123 8018.”
