The Bromyard Centre will be closed until at least September after flash flooding hit the market town on Monday evening.

The centre, which only reopened following repairs to the roof after vandalism, saw water pouring through its roof during downpours earlier this week.

A post on Halo Leisure’s website states that the centre will be closed until September 2021 due to flash flooding and that members of the centre should continue to check back for updates.

The Centre has suffered considerable water damage due to  localised flash flooding and will remain CLOSED until September 2021.  FREE use of other Halo facilities for Bromyard members during this temporary closure…

“Findings from initial investigations recommend that the facility remains closed during August to allow the building to fully dry out, the electrics to be repaired and for us to address the root of the problem.

“The team has worked so very hard to get the Centre reopened and share your disappointment and frustration that freak weather conditions have forced its closure.

“We feel very unlucky that another flood (which is completely separate to the previous flooding issue) has stopped the Centre from supporting local people to be more active more often.”
