Student volunteers from Hereford Sixth Form College united in the community spirit to tackle the litter problem in Churchill gardens. Armed with gloves, bin bags, and litter pickers, the volunteers spent their lunchtime clearing the beautiful gardens, each filling a bag with litter.

Keeping the city clean and the environment free of litter is a responsibility of all of us. At Hereford Sixth Form College, students are encouraged to do their bit with a termly litter pick, where they clean up litter from pathways, hedgerows and beneath the many trees. These community efforts do make a difference aesthetically, but also makes for a much happier environment for wildlife.

The College places an emphasis on making a difference to the environment and will continue to remind students about their behaviour and their responsibilities.

Vice Principle for Operations, Phil Tranter, said, “It is always very pleasing to see our students volunteering and giving up their time to help with a clean-up at Churchill gardens. Our students enjoy making a positive contribution to our environment and we want to continue to help improve and support our community. Well done to all who helped out and hopefully we will see many more students volunteering in the future.”
