Rail passengers have been left frustrated after the announcement was made that no trains will run between Hereford & Birmingham on a Saturday until the new year due to industrial action.

The RMT union has told West Midlands senior conductors, senior conductor instructors and train driver members not to book any Saturday shifts from 16th November until 28th December.

It means a reduced service will run on Saturdays during November and December and West Midlands Railway urged customers to only travel if necessary .

The RMT has accused the firm of trying to “bulldoze” through proposals it says would axe guards on trains, leaving the driver as the only employee on board.
