West Mercia Police officers are advising members of the public to remain vigilant after a number of reports of rogue traders visiting addresses in the county in a White Ford Transit Van.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:

“In the last week reports have been received of two men visiting rural addresses in the county offering to undertaken gardening work ā€“ such as hedge cutting or tree lopping.Ā 

“Whilst many of those offering this type of work are legitimate trades people, there is a need for the public to be cautious over those who ā€˜cold callā€™ them offering to do work on their behalf.Ā  In these particular cases the public are asked to report any suspicious behaviour involving a white Ford Transit tipper van.

“The pubic are reminded that all times caution should be taken when entering into any agreement for any type of unsolicited work and they should ask for references or seek various quotes before proceeding.Ā Ā
