According to Public Health England data, over 500 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Herefordshire during the month of October. 505 new cases were recorded in total and that number may still rise due to the backdating of cases still being recorded.

This number represents a huge increase on the 107 new cases that were recorded in the county during the month of September, signalling that the number of cases in Herefordshire are rising rapidly and that rumours that further action was set to be taken if Boris Johnson hadn’t taken the decision to impose a national lockdown, were probably close to the mark.

The number of cases recorded in October signals the highest number of monthly recorded cases of COVID-19 in Herefordshire since the start of the outbreak, however it must be noted that testing is far higher than what it was back in March and April and that the number of daily recorded cases back then would’ve almost been much higher if testing was more widely available at the time.
