On Friday 26 November the Leominster Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out Operation Jetwing, working closely with the Rural Crime Team and licensing officers.

The operation incorporated several local policing elements, one of which resulted in the arrest of a person wanted on warrant early in the morning.

PC Tom Phillips said: “Officers conducted speed enforcement on Mill St, Hereford road and Worcester Road where we gave advice to seven motorists in regards to their speed.

“We also held a community surgery at The Grange where members of the public came and spoke to us about issues in their neighbourhood.

“Our licensing officers visited licensed premises to conduct regular checks and our rural crime team delivered a presentation about new schemes they can offer for crime prevention.

“In the afternoon the SNT conducted reassurance foot patrols in and around the town centre and schools.

“The day was a great success, speaking to lots of local people and it was fantastic to hear what they all had to say and the community clearly enjoy engaging with us and appreciate all the work we do.”
