‘Nottingham Knockers’ are reported to be in the West Mercia Police force area today, with several reports of people knocking on doors in the Worcester area and also close to the Herefordshire border in Malvern.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:

“We have had reports and a number of sightings of door to door sales persons (Nottingham Knockers) in the St. John’s area in the last 30 minutes.

“We have spoken to a number of these people who do not possess a pedlars certificate and as such should not be making sales, we would strongly urge you not to buy from these people.

“Please call us should you have people trying to make sales on the doorstep, we will however be out again in the area shortly.”

Police also reported ‘Nottingham Knockers’ in the Evesham area of Worcestershire yesterday evening, so it could be the same group of people travelling around.

PC Ben Trowman of West Mercia Police said:

“Please be advised that we have received several reports that Nottingham Knockers were in Evesham and surrounding villages yesterday evening.

“Please remember that you do not have to open your door to anybody you do not know.

“Call 101 to make us aware that these people are in your area. Remember to keep all external doors and windows locked.”
