Motorists that use the A49 between Hereford and Leominster are continuing to be held up by roadworks north of the city, despite work appearing to be completed.

The roadworks, which are situated between Holmer Church and Lyde have been in place for several months for work to take place to install a new junction, that will eventually link the A4103 (Roman Road) with the A49 (Holmer Road).

National Highways had confirmed that would visit the site earlier this month to see if temporary traffic lights could be taken away, with motorists complaining of long queues daily and congestion also reported on the A4110 (Canon Pyon Road) with many using it as an alternative route between Hereford and Leominster.

As part of the work, the 30mph speed limit as you enter Hereford has been extended by around 400 yards.
