Five areas of Hereford now have a COVID-19 infection rate above 500 cases per 100,000 population, latest data released by Public Health England has revealed.

Data for the seven day period ending 7th September shows that the following areas of Hereford currently have a COVID-19 infection rate above 500 cases per 100,000 population.

Hereford North East: 45 new cases. Infection rate of 580.6 cases per 100,000 population. Up 12.5%.

Hereford North West: 50 new cases. Infection rate of 538 cases per 100,000 population. Up 92.3%.

Hereford Central: 52 new cases. Infection rate of 516.5 cases per 100,000 population. Up 44.4%.

Hereford South: 58 new cases. Infection rate of 593.1 cases per 100,000 population. Up 114.8%.

Hereford West: 41 new cases. Infection rate of 571.5 cases per 100,000 population. Up 70.8%.

Overall, a total of 646 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Herefordshire in the seven day period ending 7th September, giving a COVID-19 infection rate of 333.7 cases per 100,000 population. This is up by 14.9% on the previous seven day period.

In Herefordshire, a total of 86.9% of people aged 16 and over have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with 80.7% of people aged 16 and over now having received both doses.
