Family and friends are helping to raise money for a family after a major fire destroyed their home in Leominster on Sunday.

The Just Giving page, set up by Vicky Jones says:

“On Sunday 27th March my brother and his family lost their home and possessions through a house fire.

“What wasn’t burnt is damaged by smoke leaving them with just the clothes they ran out of the house wearing.

“There are three children aged 17, 15 and 8 and then my brother and sister in law. Every penny will help to support them to refurnish their home once its rebuilt.

“Thank you all for taking the time to read and for any support given, they are very proud people and I’ve made this page as requested by others so they can help support them.”

Update from West Mercia Police in relation to the above incident:

“Around 1pm on Sunday 27 March officers and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue attended a fire at a property in Portna Way, Leominster.

“The fire affected several properties on the road and a 200m safety cordon was put in place.

“The cause of the fire was accidental.
