A dog walker has taken to social media to alert members of the public after she was approached by two men in a van whilst walking her dog in Hereford.

Raich posted on the Live Hereford Chat Room Facebook page and said:

Just letting everyone know!

“I was walking my dog down Waterfield Road about an hour ago and a white van pulled up alongside us.

“Two men asked the age and name of my dog, they seemed friendly enough but just seemed odd as they asked if I was local (I told them I wasn’t and just visiting a friend) and once I explained he was an older dog and was deaf they drove off!

“I have reported it to 101 but just to give people a heads up with everything that’s going on!”

People should remember that dog theft is extremely rare, but if you are the victim of dog theft or notice suspicious activity, please contact West Mercia Police on 101.
