Latest data released by NHS England indicates that despite Herefordshire’s COVID-19 infection continuing to rise, the number of people with COVID-19 at hospital in Herefordshire remains relatively steady.

Data released by NHS England shows that as of 14th September, a total of 17 patients had COVID-19 at Hereford County Hospital (Wye Valley NHS Trust). This is up by one on the previous week, when 16 patients had COVID-19 at hospital in Herefordshire.

Overall, 626 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Herefordshire in the seven day period ending 11th September, giving a COVID-19 infection rate of 323.3 cases per 100,000 population. This is up by 3.8% on the previous week.

The area with the highest COVID-19 infection rate in Herefordshire is the Hereford South area, which includes areas of Putson and Holme Lacy Road. In this area, the COVID-19 infection rate for the seven day period ending 11th September was 613.2 cases per 100,000 population. This is up by 62.2% on the previous seven day period. The area with the second highest COVID-19 infection rate in Herefordshire is Hereford North East which includes parts of Aylestone Hill, Roman Road and Munstone. In this area, for the seven day period ending 11th September, the COVID-19 infection rate was 593.2 cases per 100,000 population.

The age group with the highest infection rate in Herefordshire is currently those aged 10-14 years-old. The infection rate in this age group for the seven day period ending 11th September was 965.5 cases per 100,000 population.

A number of schools in Herefordshire have recorded cases in recent days, with Almeley Primary School currently closed due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
