20mph speed limits are set to be rolled out across Abergavenny, after funding from the Welsh Government was confirmed.

Monmouthshire County Council has secured funding for Abergavenny to become one of the eight pilot areas in Wales where a default urban speed limit of 20mph is set to be trialled.

If successful, the scheme could be rolled out across the whole of Wales.

All public routes in Abergavenny, including the A40, are set to see a 20mph speed limit implemented. It is expected that the 20mph speed limit will come into force by the end of Spring 2022.

Roads such as the A465 and Brecon Road are expected to exempt for the proposals.
