Tomorrow Hereford FC will welcome Sarah Davies to Edgar Street to hold a bucket collection as she looks to raise £40,000 for a specially adapted car.

Sarah Davies is 35 and a talented and warm-hearted sister, friend and daughter. As a Girl Guide Leader, she has taken Guiding Groups all around the world – including Mexico and the Falkland Islands.

Sarah also proudly carried the Olympic torch through her home county in 2012.

Born with no arms, Sarah has faced obstacles throughout her life, but has met each one with extraordinary courage and determination. However, to enable real freedom of movement and independence, Sarah needs a specially adapted car – and due to her not qualifying for ‘motability’ aid, her family are fundraising to achieve this.

Our target is £40,000, and we are thrilled to have raised £10,000 already through fundraising events. Clearly though, we still have a long way to go before Sarah is able to secure the autonomy that she deserves and that will transform her life.

Your donation – however small – will help enable Sarah to reach her dream and remove the barrier to independence that most of us take for granted.

Bucket collectors will be positioned around the ground ahead of tomorrow’s game, please dig as deep as you can.
