West Mercia Police officers in Hereford have praised four young children after they contacted police to inform them that they had discovered a large knife in a local play park.
The knife was found in a play park in the South Wye area of Hereford and officers have thanked the children for making them aware.
A spokesperson for Hereford Cops (West Mercia Police) said:
“South Wye Safer Neighbourhood Team, would like to say a humongous thank you to the four young girls and boys, who came to our station this evening.
“These children, who are primary school age, alerted neighbourhood officers to a large knife they had found hidden in a hedge in a local play park.
“They knew coming to the police was the right thing to do and they should be super proud of themselves for having the courage to knock on our door.
“This small act helps keep our streets that little bit safer. Thank you.”
