The JVCI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) is recommending that all adults ages 18 and over are offered a booster COVID-19 vaccine three months after receiving their second dose.
They also are recommending that 12-15 year-olds can get second a COVID jab three months after receiving their first dose.
Summary:
- Booster jabs to be offered to ALL adults aged 18+ three months after second dose.
- Second jab offered to children aged between 12 and 15 years old no less than three months after the first dose
- Severely immunosuppressed people given access to another booster dose (fourth dose)
- Pfizer or Moderna likely to be offered as a booster to the majority of people, regardless of which vaccine they initially received.
